UPCOMING: Biore Combination Skin Balancing Cleanser

This product caught my eye immediately when I saw it.  I had used Biore products before and never had an issue with it effecting my skin in any bad ways.  I didn't even hesitate to pick it up.  I have combination dry/oily skin so this was like a miracle on the shelf.  This cleanser promises to clean your skin, like any normal facial cleanser, without "disturbing the natural moisture your skin needs".  It says to cleanse it while leaving 90% of your skins natural moisture in tact.  I don't know about you guys with oily/dry skin but I definitely needed a cleanser that didn't over dry or make my skin super shiny! I purchased this product from my local Target for 6.00.  I have only used this cleanser twice and I can't wait to do a review on it!  I have high hopes! Wish me and my skin luck! :)

REVIEW: Caress Fine Fragrance Elixiers Body Wash- Sheer Twilight

Can I just start this review off by saying oh my goodness!  I ran into this new product at my local Target about 3 weeks ago and had to try it.  I already liked the Caress line to begin with so I grabbed it and quickly made a jolt for the check out isle.  Let me begin with how amazing this smells.  I can't even describe to you the beautiful scent.  It's so girly and romantic smelling.  When I open the bottle in the shower I just take a deep breath in and ahh, I'm so relaxed.  The scent notes are black orchid and juniper oil.  The scent lingers on your skin for hours on end.  You have to experience this all on your own!  Caress really out did themselves.  This body wash, of the many that they have, is one the most moisturising for my skin.  I have baby soft skin all of the time thanks to this product.  I'm not a fan of body lotion so I know for a fact what's making my skin amazingly soft and radiant.  This product rinses clean leaving no film or drying residue.  If you haven't tried any products from the Caress line, go check it out.  The price range is around six dollars give or take depending on where you live and taxes applied.  I would recommend this to anyone who loves that nice soft feeling and a romantic smell.  You will not be disappointed!  This is simply an amazing product.

BATTLE: Covergirl Clean Powder VS. Rimmel London Stay Matte Powder

      VS

It's battle time!  Today I decided to compare these two popular drugstore pressed powders since I have used them both and heard them being raved about.  Let's start with Covergirl's Clean Pressed Powder!

COVERGIRL
What it promises:

-shine-free formula that helps minimize the appearance of pores
-make skin look soft and smooth
-hypoallergenic
-won't clog pores
-Non-acnegenic/comedogenic
-Available in sensitive skin and oil control
-to be able to wear alone or over makeup

What it actually does:

The Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder that I have personally used was the one for sensitive skin.  This is the one in the green package.  I find that it does make me shine free as I do have combination dry and oily skin.  It doesn't over dry my dry spots and it keeps my oily spots matte. I will say that no face powder that I have ever used has helped minimize the appearance of my pores, well none that I can recall. The only downfall that I could find was that it would cake up over my foundation. I would not wear this product alone but I'm sure if you have good skin that you could.  Me on the other hand, I do not have such great skin so, I wouldn't dare try it.  One weird thing is that I absolutely love the smell of this product.  I know that a lot of people don't but I find it to be well, refreshing!  It's a good clean smell!

RIMMEL LONDON
What it promises:

-controls shine up to five hours
-matte natural finish

-helps to minimize to appearance of pores

What it actually does:

I've heard so many people rave about this product so I had to put down my Covergirl and give it a go!  I have to say that yes, it lasted maybe four hours.  Saying five is pushing it.  Like I mentioned in the Covergirl section, I have combination oily/dry skin.  For a girl like me, if I hear many people rave about this product staying matte I've got to try it.  I was a little upset that it didn't last longer without reapplying it but it didn't cake up as much as the Covergirl did. It doesn't have much of a smell to it either.  Which in the long run you don't really need your makeup to have a scent!  Back to the promises, it does give you a very natural finish.  It didn't minimize my pores either.  Rimmel London has impressed me with so many of there products.  A lot of them that I would compare to high-end brands but this one, not so much.  If it was the only face powder that I could find, I'd repurchase.  All in all, it kept me matte for a small amount of time and was a light coverage.

I would like to add that these are my opinions based on how these products reacted with my skin type.  You may have a different experience so give these a try yourself!  Find out which one suits you better!

HOW TO: Homemade Sugar Scrub

Sugar scrubs are a great way to get rid of dry and dead skin cells.  Why spend tons of money on all these chemical peels and all "natural" scrubs when you have your own sitting right inside your cabinet at home?!  Homemade scrubs are a cheaper alternative and I always find them fun to do!  I like to use white sugar but you can always switch that with brown sugar if wanted.  Get prepared to enjoy amazingly soft skin! Lets get into it!

Ingredients:

-2 tbsp Sugar
-3 tbsp warm water

Preparing the scrub:

Be sure that you are using warm water, not scorching hot!  Stir the sugar into the water until it is all melted.  If not fairly all melted, it could be a little harsh on the skin!
Apply to your face.  Focus on the dry areas or any that you wish.
Massage this gently all over your face.  Don't rub too hard!
Rinse with warm water until all of it is off your face.

All done!

Tips:

-Tie back hair.  I always manage to get this in my hair and of course it sticks!
-Have a damp wash cloth handy in case you get this in any unwanted places.  It's sugar, wet sugar... enough said!
-You can also apply this to elbows or knees.  Try this in a shower!
-Keep an empty, clean container handy.  In case you have any excess to store.
-Apply a moisturiser when done to seal in all the goodness!

Have fun with this and try your own homemade scrub!

REVIEW: Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer

Maybelline's Mineral Power Concealer is a product that I have used many times and that I will continue to use.  I love the way that this concealer feels on my skin.  This, to me, is a light to medium coverage that would be able to build to a full coverage concealer.  I would recommend this for any skin type or skin problem.  It is up to you if you would wear this under or over your foundation or if you just want to wear this alone.  It has the power to cover dark spots, redness and acne scars.  I don't see many down falls to this concealer other than it can be drying.  This mostly depending on the weather.  I know, this sounds silly but where I live, it's true.  This product applies creamy but within nine hours of wearing it with no re application to my face at all, it drys out.  Especially around my nose area.  For a drugstore product and the money you paid for it, I'd say it was worth it.  I've seen and heard other reviews about this product many of them comparing them to higher end brands.  I'm not sure if I would go so much as to say that.  Remember when the makeup industry was on this mineral kick?  Well, the only mineral makeup that I found that was worth it and fairly decent was this.  I will continue to try all types of concealers and reviewing them but my go to will always be this.  Try it for yourself!  Questions, feel free to ask!

REVIEW: Hard Candy Glamoflauge Concealer

This review is long overdue.  I purchased this product almost two years ago and still til this day have the same tube. There really isn't a story of how I came to hear of this product but was just doing some drugstore makeup shopping and there it was.  Hands down, this is as good as any high-end brand concealer.  I think I paid maybe six dollars for this and I can promise the day that I do run out, I will repurchase.  A small amount of this goes a long way.  I can take smaller than a pea sized amount and about cover every trouble spot that I have.  The only down side to this product is that if you apply too much, it will crease.  When you first purchase this I suggest testing it before you wear it.  You need to find out the easiest way to apply it, how much to use and if it wears better under or over your foundation.  This is a full coverage product so if you have acne scars or redness on the face... stop reading this and go buy this product.  It's like a miracle in a tube.  It also comes with a concealer pencil.  I have tried this and it also good but don't use this as much.  I would consider this a dupe for the Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer.  Any unanswered questions, write me!  You will not regret this purchase.

REVIEW: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle

I purchased this product one month ago after hearing about how great it was and how it did as it said it would do.  I have to say that the hunt to find this product in my shade was the hardest thing. Every drugstore that I went into was either sold out or only carried darker shades.  I finally managed to find this at my local Wal-Mart of all places.  When I purchased it, I couldn't wait til the next morning to try this out with the rest of my makeup routine.  I will say that I agree that it does as it says.  The application was easy, as I thought it would be a little strange to use a sponge like tip.  I find that right when I apply this product it does cover the circles and veins around my eyes but as I let it sit for five minutes, it looked better.  I don't know why that is.  I do think the coverage is fair but if you are looking for a full coverage concealer for dark circles, this isn't it.  I use this everyday and sometimes alone when I go for a natural look. Just this and a face powder does the trick.  I hope that this review has helped with any questions.  If you have another, feel free to ask.  All in all, I would recommend this to someone not looking for full under eye dark circle coverage but for a medium coverage.  It is worth the money spent.
